About Us
Balla National School is an 8-mainstream-teacher primary school, situated close to the heart of the village of Balla, Co. Mayo, Ireland. We are proud to welcome over 200 pupils from a wide variety of backgrounds, creating a vibrant and inclusive community. At our school, we are very proud of the achievements our pupils and staff have worked hard to earn. Over the years, we have been awarded several Green School Flags in recognition of our commitment to caring for the environment and promoting sustainability. We are also the proud holders of an Active School Flag, which celebrates our dedication to keeping pupils active and healthy through sports, movement, and fun physical activities. In addition, our school has been awarded the Amber Flag, which recognises the importance we place on promoting positive mental health and well-being for all members of our school community. We also worked hard for was the Digital Schools of Distinction Award, a nationally recognised accreditation that celebrates excellence in the use of digital technology in teaching and learning. This award highlights the commitment of our staff to integrating ICT into everyday classroom practice, helping pupils to become confident, creative, and responsible users of technology
